This treatment method works best on lighter skin types (from fair to olive tones), and untanned skin. During your consultation at Well Labs+ Medspa Dallas, we will look at the areas you wish to address and let you know how many treatments it will take to see a reduction of 80% or more hair growth. We also may ask that you take part in a spot test to see how your skin reacts to the laser treatment, since sensitive skin may react to the laser. If everything looks good, we can schedule your treatment sessions to get things started.
Before laser hair removal, you should not pluck or wax the hair to allow for the hair to continue to grow, making it easier for the GentleLASE laser to target it during these sessions. The laser can damage only the hair that’s in an active growth phase, which we shave right before your session; we prefer you shave a day before the laser hair removal treatment in Dallas so the tech can have full access to the pattern of hair growth you want cleared from your skin.
During a laser hair removal in Dallas, we rarely use anesthetic, but you can request that a topical anesthetic cream for your skin about half an hour before the session. Most of our patients feel comfortable during the treatment and say it’s comparable to a rubber band snapping on the skin. We calibrate the tool to treat areas of thinner skin, skin that covers a bony area, and the spot size needed. As we deliver the laser to the skin, we will move the device in a swift motion from side to side, treating one area at a time. As the laser penetrates the skin, there’s nothing to worry about because it damages no tissues.
What To Expect
Here’s what to expect when you undergo laser hair removal in Dallas.
As soon as you’re done with laser hair treatment at Well Labs+ Medspa Dallas, we will recommend a few different sunscreens you need to wear as soon as you’re ready to go outside and expose the treated area. Our preference is anything minimum 10% zinc oxide, but you may use something higher if you wish. You must wear the sunscreen for at least two weeks following the procedure and minimize your sun exposure during this time. The treatment itself will take five minutes to an hour, depending on what areas you treat in each session, but over the next few months, you’ll notice the hair will gradually stop growing.
