Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) is a receptor agonist. GLP-2 and GLP-3 are similar: peptides which are similar to a protein our body naturally produces to help prevent sugar spikes after meals by improving insulin production.

These symptoms may occur when the dose is increased, but often go away after 1-2 days.

Although GLPs by themselves usually do not cause hypoglycemia, blood sugar can be affected by skipping meals, alcohol use, stress, illness or surgery. Hypoglycemia can make you feel very hungry, dizzy, irritable, or shaky – along with rapid heartbeat, and/or tingling in the hands or feet.
